FAQ's Q. What can I expect during an intuitive session?A. Each session is individualized and may vary from session to session, so your experience will always be unique in that moment. You choose what you are most comfortable with, whether sitting quietly or relaxing on a message table, which ever method you choose will be best for you. What is important is to let your mind and energy body relax and let the healing begin. Energy flows where it’s needed targeting core issues bringing them to the surface for release. Q. Can intuitive sessions be done over the phone?
A. Yes. Energy knows no time or space and like a fingerprint each individual is energetically unique. Q. Does Intuitive energy healing work at a distance?
A. Yes. We are all one energetically, so distance is not a problem. Recent studies done at Harvard University and detailed in the book “Reinventing Medicine”, by Larry Dossey M.D; Dr. Judith Orloff M.D. “Intuitive Healing” as well as many others in this field have shown this to be true and provable. Q. I feel uncomfortable about having someone know so much about me?
A. Client confidentiality is critical and strictly maintained. Our work together is founded in trust, which is essential for a successful outcome and we will discuss all of your concerns and questions prior to your session. My role as an Empath is nurturing and supportive, however, if at anytime you feel uncomfortable during a session you should end the session. There are times when I may tune in to information known only by you or channel a loved one who reveals information you need to hear to aid in your healing. What is important is to enjoy the experience; clarity, awareness, and healing you receive. Only you know if the information given to you is accurate and right for you. Be open to the experience as I have had cases where clients have constructed a protective energetic wall around them selves, which make the intuitive process much more difficult. In those cases, it’s essential to address the issue surrounding need for such a protective wall and focus on healthy boundaries to restore a healthier energetic ‘filter’ which is much more desirable and beneficial. Q. What should I focus on during my intuitive session?
A. You may choose to focus your intention on any specific question or on several issues, what is relevant will surface for release. Q. Why use Guided Meditation with Energy Healing? A. Meditation alone has a proven history in reducing stress and clearing the mind. Many clients combine Energy Healing and Guided Meditation to get to the source of pain and discomfort and eliminate it for good. Others simply enjoy its effects in allowing the energy to take them to a deeper level of consciousness than can be achieved with one technique alone. Its effects transports the mind, body and spirit to any point of time, past lives, childhood or current issues or trauma for clarity which releases old wounding or can shift ones perspectives.
Q. What is a Clairsentient? A. Clairsentients feel or sense and view the body as a continuously circulating energy from within and outside of itself. It is this energy that relays information to a clairsentient that enables them to offer insight and awareness to the cause of dis-ease or unbalance.
Q. Can intuitive healing be used in combination with other healing systems? A. Yes, The energy that is healing in the universe does not flow through only one system of medicine.
Q. What is Reiki? A. Reiki (ray-key) is Japanese, hands on, energy healing technique used for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes deep healing and restores balance to the body’s chakras and aura. It is powerful, non-evasive, yet gentle healing technique to harmonize and balance the body mind, body, and spirit.
Q. What can Reiki do? A. Reiki is energy “Life Force” or Chi and has unlimited potential. You are a spiritual energy body and therefore you have unlimited potential. Those sensitive to energy vibration can feel its energy sensations as warm, cool, tingling, prickly and so on. Many can feel it going right to the source of discomfort restoring balance and flow within the body.
Many people use Reiki for every issue or concern and practice Usui’s Reiki Principles daily for a balance life. Q. How Is Reiki Applied? A. Reiki is completely gentle and non-invasive, practitioners use a light touch (hands on) or hands slightly above the client's body and begin to channel energy to the client. During a traditional reiki session, there are specific hand positions, which are held for approximately three minutes along the energy centers of the body. However, during an intuitive reiki session the practitioner will intuitively place their hands where they are guided, following either their own or the client’s healing/spiritual guides.
The client’s role is to relax into the process, focus their intention and allow their body and spirit to go to the source or the root of the problem and begin its natural healing.
Q. What is the Origin and History of Reiki? A. Reiki was re-discovered as a spiritual and healing path in the mid-1900's by a Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese Doctor and Buddhist Monk. He integrated his spiritual, psychic, and medical knowledge into the practice of Reiki energy healing techniques we use today known as Usui Reiki.
Dr. Usui developed his Reiki organization and trained others in his healing technique that is still used today in Japan. One of Dr. Usui's students Dr. Hayashi further developed these teachings and opened his own clinic in Tokyo. In 1936, a Hawaiian Japanese American woman named Hawayo Takata traveled to Japan to tend to family matters. She herself was suffering from poor health and sought after Reiki treatment from Dr. Usui. She later became a Reiki Master-Teacher and introduced Reiki to the West in the late 1930's.
Once it was introduced to the West by Takata some of the original teachings and techniques were altered. Some practioners and teachers suspect this was done in an effort to have Reiki accepted in the West at that time. Remember, Reiki was being introduced in the United States during the 1930’s and a time in our history of Japanese internment camps. There are different beliefs concerning the origin and history of Reiki, and I'm sure you will come to your own conclusions after conducting your own personal research. However one theory is consistent, that Reiki is based on the Tibetan sutras or Buddhist text, written by Japanese Buddhist monks. We do know Reiki traces its origins to ancient Eastern philosophies, 5000 years of knowledge in the field of energetic health known as "Ki", "Chi", or "Pranic" which are also known as chakras, meridians, and nadis.Reiki and similar energy healing techniques have been practiced the world over for thousands of years with amazing results.
Q. Is Reiki Self-Empowering? A. Individuals and Reiki students who learn its healing techniques and practice the Reiki principles for their own personal and spiritual enlightenment, empower themselves to live a healthier lifestyle than they had once lived. This new found awareness, “that all is one”, shifts their perspectives, and supports the changes in their life as they become more in tune-in to their own inner work---the power to heal within, to the concept of healing others, and healing the Universe. They become “one” with their true Self, aware of their purpose, and their connection within the universe.
Individuals naturally know what is right for them. Unfortunately, in the flurry of modern living it’s all to easy to lose sight of their true nature. By sensing and re-connecting their connection with the Universe, the flow of life, and their role in it they allow their true heart and spirit "higher Self" to emerge. Personal truth or Self empowerment is when one does not need to ask for or look for approval from outside sources. When one feels confident in the knowledge that what they are doing is truthful and right for them, life becomes full of passion, purposeful, and joyful. The teacher’s role is to support and empower the student in their journey of Self-discovery---It is the student role to practice integrating reiki into their life.
Q. How Does Reiki Heal? A. Reiki is energy. We are energy! We are more than just our physical body. Our thoughts (mental) and physical form is energy. We are what we think. It’s this non-physical energy that can be felt, it is "life force energy" known the throughout the world as "Ki", "Chi", and "Prana".. It's this energy that keeps us alive and well.So how does it work? Our physical body has energy receptors and transmitters called chakras. They transmit energy throughout our body ensuring it is working and flowing properly. When our energy is flowing smoothly, we feel positive, healthy and vibrant; we've got a kick in our step and we're feeling good, centered, and grounded! But, occasionally our chakras become congested; our energy flow becomes restricted or blocked, this causes the surrounding chakras to work harder to maintain a healthy physical state. We begin to feel imbalanced. It’s in this state of imbalance we begin to feel tired, we catch more colds, or experience more physical aches and pains. If this pattern continues over a period of time mental/physical illness can occur. Our energy body (chakra and aura) needs to be restored back to a healthy energy flow, grounded and balanced. Reiki assists the energy body back into a healthy flow by channeling energy to the body’s energy centers and throughout the whole body. When a person receives a Reiki treatment, it is the "Rei", Spirit or God Conscious, part of energy that assesses where the person has an energetic block then directs "ki" energy to that area to dissolve the blockage. Reiki then raises the energy frequency and vibration level in and around the subtle body, chakras and aura, increasing its energy flow. Once Ki is flowing naturally, the physical organs and tissues are then able to begin their healing process. The body is designed to repair itself. Reiki assists the body to make the repairs it needs for health and wellness.
Important Note on The Term "Healing" It is important to note here that the term “healing” in Eastern medicine has a somewhat different meaning from the widely accepted meaning used in the West of curing symptoms. The practice of Reiki healing is the return to wholeness. There is an ideal form each of us has, this ideal form being the highest and clearest expression of who we are. Pain or dis-ease comes from any deviation between the person's current from in the physical world and his/her ideal form. Healing then is to bring this physical form into alignment with the ideal form or true Self.
Q. What are the requirements for Reiki Training and Certification? A. There is no special background or credentials needed to receive Reiki training; although many who receive training are health care professionals. Students learn Reiki techniques and practice from an experienced Reiki Master Teacher. Reiki not a self-taught therapy, therefore, it is important to carefully choose a Reiki Teacher. There are many different schools of Reiki and the techniques taught will vary between schools and teachers. Training for each level typically takes 1 to 2 days. There are three sometimes four levels or degrees of expertise; each level ends with an attunement and certification in that level. Receiving an attunement opens and permanently seals the student's energy body to a higher energetic frequency. The individual then has the ability to channel higher levels of energy to themselves and others.
Some individuals will choose to continue on and become a Reiki Master Teacher, which enables them to teach Reiki and perform attunements. This process can sometimes take several years to complete. The length of time it takes to attain master/teacher level is largely dependent on student readiness. With each level of attunement the student undergoes energetic changes within mind, body, and spirit. It is important for the student to allow their body and lifestyle time to adjust to the impending changes. Q. What are the laws that regulate a Reiki practitioner? A. Laws regulating the practice of Reiki vary from state to state, and sometimes by local areas as well. In some states, a Reiki practitioner’s must also be a certified massage therapist. Most other states do not consider Reiki to be massage and do not regulate it as a form of massage therapy.
Q. Who Does The Reiki Master Initiation? A. Practitioners study with a Reiki masters to learn how to access Ki and become a channel for giving Reiki. Students learn the basic healing patterns and the "laying on of hands" for themselves and others. More advanced practitioners may use absentee healing which involves practicing Reiki on someone from a distance.
Q. What is the Reiki attunement initiation process? A. Reiki masters may use one or a combination of ritual prayers, intention, meditation, sounds, and symbols or they may sit quietly with the student channeling energy to attune the student’s energy centers to a higher level. This higher level of energy allows the teacher to experience additional energy flow through their hands providing them the ability to channel higher levels of energy others. This permanently seals the ability to channel Reiki energy for life.
Q. Who Can Learn Reiki? A. Everyone can learn Reiki. It does not require any special talents or acquired abilities. Reiki training is open to anyone who wishes to access their innate healing ability. Many health care professionals add Reiki to their current professional practice, or use Reiki for themselves, their family and friends.
Reiki is a wonderful, safe addition to teach teens good health practices. Classes and workshops are taught at age appropriate concepts, content, and experience. It's also a lot of fun, a great way for parents to really enjoy and get to know their kids in a whole new way. Q. Can Reiki Be Used With Traditional and Non-Traditional Health Care? A. Yes, Reiki is completely non-invasive. It can be used in combination with traditional and non-traditional health care. Reiki’s focus is on wholeness of mind, body, and spirit.
Many use Reiki to reduce symptoms during medical treatments, pre and post op surgery, and emotional crisis. Reiki is often used during meditation, yoga and other spiritual practices. Q. Can Reiki be used on other things besides people? A. Reiki can be used on and for everything. If you are a Reiki Practitioner or teacher you can channel Reiki beyond space and time by using the "distance or absentee healing" method.
Q. What is a healing crisis? A. Occasionally a client or student will have what is called a 'healing crisis'. This occurs as a person’s vibration level increases. Toxins or lower energies that have been stored in the body, often for years, are released into the blood stream, which are then filtered by the liver and kidneys then are removed from the system. Sometimes a person will get a headache or stomachache, or develop flu like symptoms or feel weak. It is a good idea to drink plenty of water, eat lighter meals and get more rest. The body is repairing itself as part of the healing process so this is a good sign. Reiki causes no harm, however, if symptoms last for more than one or two days it is advisable to consult your family physician.
Q. Is Reiki a Religion? A. No, Reiki is not a religion. It is spiritual in nature and practitioners are never asked to change their personal religious or spiritual beliefs. They are encouraged to make their own decisions concerning the nature of their religious/spiritual practices.
All healing comes from the realm of spirit or soul. In Rhonda’s intuitive energy healing practice, she seeks to harmonize the spirit, mind, body, and emotions. Spiritual healing addresses not only the various diseases and health problems of the body, but also those wounds of soul/spirit. Q. Will I receive certification for my Reiki training? A. Yes!, a Reiki certificate is given for each training level and initiates are then eligible to continue onto more advanced Reiki training.
Reiki supports the natural healing processes of the body and is not meant as a replacement for any treatment prescribed by a doctor or a licensed health care provider.
